This insturment was used to measure the depth of Crater Lake! Amazing they couldn't find the bottom !

that is one deep lake!! Very cool device!
Interesting measuring device. It looks like an old egg beater and a fishing reel combined. Nice catch on this one for an unusual way to illustrate measurement.
